The history
Bullets have changed dramatically over time, but the start of bullets was the musket ball . For many years this was the technology of the time . Today we look back at this as the first step towards modern technology. Even though this bullet only went about 300 yards and had a very poor accuracy, it made history. The creator of the musket is unknown but the musket was created in the mid 1500. Being one of the first weapons that could kill with the slight pull of a trigger, at the weapon of its time, it was the one thing that put England as the world supper power for more then a century. Some people ask if the musket was the start guns, the answer is no. England was the first to use the musket as far as we know but the cannon, created in Europe was the real first step. England just took the cannon and shrunk it down using the same basic idea and making it more portable and controllable.
But when we take another step into the the time of the American civil war, a french military officer named MiniéClaude-Étienne Minié created a cone or dome shaped bullet that would forever change war and history. This creation was the first bullet created in 1848, it is what accounted for around 90% of deaths in battle during the civil war. It's unique shape allowed it to collect spin, resulting in more accuracy. That also means that it can be fired from a farther distance away and still be useful. The minie ball was made of lead.
Modern weaponry has become much more complicated and more dangerous, unlike guns before modern guns can be loaded in seconds and hold lots of bullets. There is a larger varity of guns for many different tasks, bullets now are as big as 2400 grams and as small as 52 grams. Guns now are easier to use and some bullets have a more devestating blow and kill in one shot. People don't realize how dangerous weapons have gotten, such as the nuclear bomb. I can only imagine how bullets will be in the feature if there are even bullets in the future.
